IF IT DOESN’T CHALLENGE YOU, IT DOESN’T CHANGE YOU.

One of the most difficult things about owning a dog is knowing that one day you will be without it. But you can’t live thinking that way. The bond between human and dog is like no other. Nobody can snap you out of a bad mood the way a dog does. Nobody greets you with as much excitement and joy as a dog does and nobody loves you the way a dog does. I live knowing that my dog will not be with me forever, but I do my best to make sure her life is the greatest it can be, day in and day out. One of my favourite quotes comes from a six-year-old boy following the death of his pup:

He said, “People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life — like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?” The Six-year-old continued, “Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.”

Treat them the way they treat you – without judgement, without contempt but with everlasting, pure love.
